I have been making purses with vcr tape too, and invented my own pattern, I have a scan of the bag I would be willing to share with you, and the pattern as well. I basically crochet a pocket and use fancy yarns to crochet a couple of rows on the top of the bag, and crochet the strap to that, I cant make enough of them for my granddaughters. great example of the vcr tape bags….
