@Sheryl, Yes you can use bread bags and other plastic materials to crochet with. I cut the bread bags a bit narrower as they stretch more and are harder to crochet with. I crocheted this bag using bread bags and the same looping method I do with the plastic bags. But experiment with them to find the best method for you.
