I wanted to make baby slippers to fit my Granddaughter who is 10 months old. So through trial and error, I finally came up with a pattern that after felting fit her feet.

My finished slippers before felting were 3″ wide by 5″ inches long with a toe depth of 2″. After felting the slippers are 2.5″ wide by 4.25″ long. Guro has graciously allowed me to post my baby version of her slipper pattern below. Enjoy and happy crafting to all!

Felted Baby Wool Slippers

Crochet hook: “J” (6 mm) hook
Yarn: 2 ozs Bulky/Chunky weight wool yarn
2) small star buttons

Rnd 1
Ch 2, work 6 Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Don’t join as this pattern is worked in rounds without joining.

Rnd 2
Work 2 Sc in ea st around to create the toe. (12 sts)

Rnd 3-7
*Sc in first st and then 2 Sc in next st*. Repeat between * until you have 19 sts in the round.
Then work even Sc in ea st until your toe is 2″ long which is approx. 7 rounds.

Rnd 8-16
Sl St in next st and turn. Sc in ea of the next 16 sts and leave the last 3 sts unworked. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat rnd 8 until your slipper is 5″ long or approx. 16 rnds completed.

FO slipper and leave a long tail to close the end of the heel with. Weave under ends.

Make 2 slippers and then felt them in the hottest water setting you have on your washer for about 15-20 minutes. Check sizing a few times as you felt the slippers. Felt them more if needed to get to the right length for your baby’s foot. Once your felting is complete, shape the slippers and let dry.

I received this handy Eco lunch tote made from 100% post-consumer recycled material such as discarded plastic water bottles and food containers. It’s a wonderful lunch bag with a velcro closure and folds flat when empty. I used it today to carry my lunch to work and it works well as a reusable lunch bag.

One of my favorite items I received was the Bamboo USB flash drive V.2.0 1GB. It is made from renewable bamboo material and features a handy magnetic cap which keeps the cap securely on the flash drive.

Several ballpoint pens were sent to me. My favorite one is the Maize twist pen that is made of corn and 72% biodegradable. This eco pen is a cool-looking green color and features a soft grip. It writes nicely and has a comfortable feel to it when writing.

Next was a recycled cardboard journal notebook which is found here. The cover is made from 100% recycled cardboard and the paper inside the journal includes 100 sheets of lined recycled paper with a recycling symbol printed on each page. As with all these promotional products, you can have the cover of this journal embossed with your company name and logo. My husband really liked this item and took it to work to use for his daily notes.
