		<description><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been on a bit of a dishcloth crocheting craze lately. Here is my latest creation. Its a crocheted cotton dishcloth or washcloth. I call it my pointed granny dishcloth.<br />

<p>My pointed granny dishcloth can be made with scrap cotton yarn as shown above in the second photo. It&#8217;s a great way to use up those small pieces of cotton you have in your stash. My pointed granny pattern is similar to <a href="http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2008/08/22/my-star-dishcloth/">my star dishcloth</a> design below that features a center scrubbie option using plarn (plastic bag yarn) with 5 points.</p>

<p>So grab your crochet hook and crochet yourself a 4 point or 5 point star granny dishcloth using one of the free patterns. Either way, I hope you enjoy my dishcloth designs. </p>
<p><strong>My Pointed Granny Dishcloth Pattern</strong> </p>
<p>Dishcloth measures: 9” wide and 12” wide across diagonally (4 pointed corners)<br />
Hook: Metal “H” US sized hook</p>
<p>Materials:<br />
Sugar &#038; Cream Cotton yarn (used about 2-ozs of crème and ½ oz green)<br />
(This is almost a great pattern to use cotton yarn scarps as shown in 2nd dishcloth)</p>
<p>With center color, Ch 5, Sl St to form ring. <span id="more-1114"></span></p>
<p>Rnd 1<br />
Ch 2, (counts as 1 Hdc) in ring work 2 Hdc, Ch 1.<br />
*3 Hdc in ring, Ch 1.* Repeat 3 times. Sl St to top of Ch 2. (4 corners)</p>
<p>Rnd 2<br />
Sl st over to corner space, Ch 2, 2 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the same ch 1 corner space.<br />
*Sk next 3 Hdc (shell), 3 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the next Ch 1 corner space.*<br />
Repeat between *.  Sl St to top of the beginning Ch 2. FO.</p>
<p>Rnd 3<br />
Attach new cotton color in any corner space. Ch 2 (counts as 1 Hdc) 2 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the corner space.<br />
*Sk 3 Hdc, make 3 Hdc in between shells. In next corner point work 3 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc all in corner sp.* Repeat between * around motif, join with a Sl St to top of Ch 2.</p>
<p>Rnd 4 &#8211; 8<br />
Continue in established pattern with cotton yarn. Work 3 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc in ea Ch 1 corner point and 3 Hdc between each shell.<br />
(Change colors as desired to use up scraps of cotton.)</p>
<p>Rnd 9<br />
Continue in established pattern but skip center shell in middle of each side (work 3 Hdc in 3 spaces between shells – skip one sp then 3 Hdc in the 3 remaining spaces of each side.) Work corner points in pattern established. Repeat for each side. Join with Sl St to top of Ch 2. </p>
<p>Rnd 10<br />
Continue in established pattern of 3 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc in ea Ch 1 corner point and 3 Hdc between each shell except in skipped space of prior rnd – work Sl St in the skipped space, continue in pattern. End with Sl St to top of Ch 2. FO. [&#8230;]</p>]]></description>
