Recycled Plastic Bracelet
I’m excited to share with you all my recycled plastic bracelet that was crocheted from bread bags and plastic packaging material. I just love the colors and look of the bracelet. I added this blue button but then I found this cool pink glittery button and had to try it on the bracelet too. Which one do you like better? I really love them both!

I also want to mention that I used one of those big plastic packages that toilet paper rolls come in to complete this project. It had such pretty blue and pink colors and I was able to cut it into 1/2 inch wide strips and joined the ends just as I do here with my regular plarn (plastic bag yarn) making projects. So roundup some plastic and upcycle yourself this fashion bracelet. I guarantee that yours will be one of a kind and be a definite eco fashion statement when you wear it. Enjoy!

Materials needed:
One small ball of plastic bread bags cut into 1/2 inches to 5/8 inches strips
Approx. 4-6 bags
1) 1/2 inch button
Hook: N (9 mm) size metal hook
Description: Recycled Plastic Bracelet
Bracelet measures 1-1/2 inches wide and 10 inches long
with wrist opening appox. 8 inches around
Directions:
Ch 21
My wrist is fairly small so check your measurement and make sure the 8 inches bracelet will fit comfortably around your wrist. Just add a few chain sts to your beginning chain if you need it bigger.
Row 1
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea chain st down to end. Work 3 Sc in end st, then continue around other side of chain by working a Sc in ea st to other end then work 3 Sc in end st.
Note: This last 3 Sc space I did more loosely so I could use it for my buttonhole. Just gently stretch the stitches to create a larger end hole for your buttonhole. Add another Sc in the end st should you want a larger buttonhole.
Row2
Sc in each st around to first end, work 2 Sc in the four end sts, then Sc in ea st to other end, then work 2 Sc in the four end sts. Sl St into the next two sts to finish your edge smoothly. FO and weave under ends. Pull on the ends of the bracelet gently to stretch out the stitching on the bracelet.
Sew a small button on end under buttonhole.

I like the blue button because it pops. The pink one blends in too much.

That’s a good way to recycle, I am sure women will love to make these kind of things of just plastic. Cute things and at the same time you can help the enviroment that it is too important to take care of it. By other hand, it is nice and cheap. Good idea!

I love that you made a bracelet! I’ve seen so many bags and I’ve been looking for new inspiration for using up my plastic bags. Very cool idea!
Personally, I like the subtle glam that the pink button gives the bracelet 🙂
