Fashion Doll Bloomers

Posted on August 15, 2012

Here is a quick crochet pattern for bloomers or panties for a fashion doll. In a recent post, I crocheted a dress for a 14-inch fashion doll. I needed some bloomers for under my doll’s dress and came up with these simple but effective panties for my doll.

The 14-inch fashion doll has a waist of 5 inches and 7 inches around at the hips. The crochet pattern below has bloomers that will fit a 14-inch doll. Then I have listed the changes necessary for a 11-1/2 inch tall Barbie fashion doll that has a 3-1/2 inch waist and 5-1/4 inches around at hips.

These bloomers were designed to cover the doll’s bottom under a dress and aren’t all that fancy. I just wanted a simple quick pattern for some panties and this crochet pattern fits that purpose. The waist maybe a bit loose but its snug enough at the hips to hold the bloomers in place without elastic. I hope you find the free pattern useful and happy crocheting to all.

Crocheted Fashion Doll Bloomers

14″ Fashion Doll Dress – Doll has 5″ around waist and 7″ around at hips
Small amount of fingering or sport weight acrylic yarn
Hook: E (3.5 mm) crochet hook
Finished size: 3″ at waist, 3″ long, and 3-1/4″ wide at leg opening bottoms

Rnd 1
Ch 30 and join to form a circle. (Leave a long 7 inch tail on your beginning chain so you can use it to close the bloomers between the legs later.)

Rnd 2-3
Sc in each st of rnd. Don’t join and just work the bloomers in the round. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the start of each round if necessary.

Rnd 4
*Sc in next 2 sts, 2 Sc in next st* Repeat between * around.

Rnd 5-14
Sc in ea st around. On last round, Sc crochet tightly to last 2 sts, Sl St in last 2 sts and weave tail in to make a smooth edge on waistband.

Lay flat and using the beginning st and tail as your center mark, join yarn at center front for leg openings. Sc in through the center 2 sts at center to create the two leg openings. Finish off and weave the tail under at crotch to secure center for leg openings.

Here are the changes for bloomers to fit a Barbie doll with a 3-1/2″ waist & 5-1/4″ hips.

Barbie Doll Bloomers

Ch 23 with a F (3.5 mm) crochet hook. Join to form a circle. Leave a 4″ tail to finish with.

Row 1
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st. Ch 1, Turn. (Again work in the round without joining from this point on.)

Row 2-9
Sc in each st. Ch 1, Turn.

Row 10
Sc tightly in each st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 11
Sc in next 5 sts, work 1 dec (2 Sc-tog), then Sc in next 9 sts. Work 1 dec (2 Sc-tog), Sc in next 5 sts and Sl St in the next 2 sts to finish with a smooth edge. Finish off at waist.

Lay flat and use the tail to close at the center. I used the tail to stitch through both layers and weave under at the center to create the leg openings for the Barbie doll bloomers.
