14-Inch Fashion Doll Dress

Here is a 14 inch tall fashion doll that I’ve had for awhile. She needed a pretty dress so out came the crochet hook to create a classy dress for this doll. This is one of those $4 dolls that you can get at your craft store but what a difference a nice dress can make. Just check out this beautiful doll now with her pretty dress.


14 inch Fashion Doll Dress

Materials:
1 Oz. Acrylic Yarn (Off-White Caron used)
1 small snap
Small amount of ribbon for waist tie

Hook: G (4-4.25 mm) crochet hook

Ch 17

Row 1
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st of rnd. (16 Sc)

Row 2
Ch 1, turn. *Sc in next st, then 2 Sc in next st.* Repeat between * across row. (24 Sc)

Row 3
Ch 1, turn. *Sc in next 2 sts, then 2 Sc in next st*. Repeat between * across row. (32 Sc)

Row 4
Ch 1, turn. *Sc in ea of the next 6 sts, then 2 Sc in next st*. Repeat between * across row until the last 3 sts of row. Sc in ea of the last 4 sts. (36 Sc)

Row 5
Ch 1, turn. *Sc in ea of the next 9 sts, then 2 Sc in next st*. Repeat between * and then Sc in the last 6 sts of row. (39 Sc)

Row 6
Ch 1, turn. *Sc in ea of the next 7 sts, then 2 Sc in next st*. Repeat between * and Sc in last 7 sts of row. (43 Sc)

Row 7
Ch 1, turn. Work Sc in ea st.

Row 8 (Sleeve Formed)
Ch 1, turn. Work Sc in ea of the next 6 sts, sk 7 sts, then Sc in the next 16 sts, sk 7 sts, and Sc in last 7 sts.

Row 9
Ch 3, turn. Sk 1st st *Sc in next st, Ch 2, Hdc in next st, Ch 2*. Repeat between * across row following established pattern to end of row.

Row 10-11
Ch 2, turn. *Hdc in Sc of prior row, Ch 2, Sc in Hdc of prior row*. Repeat between * across row to end. At end of row, join with Sl St to top of Ch 2. Don’t turn now and just continue to work in the round. You should have r/s facing out now as you work in the round.

Row 12-32
*Ch 2, skip ch space and Sc in each st*. Repeat between * across row. Don’t join from this point forward, just continue working in the round until the last row. In the last few sts on the last row, Sl St into the last two sts ending at the back to finish off with a smooth hem.

Fasten off and weave ends under on inside.


Sew a small snap on the back at neckline for a closure. Using a piece of ribbon around waistline, tie a bow at front.

    Thanks so much for saving our day! My five year old granddaughter is visiting and found an old doll. Of course it needs an outfit immediately. I’ve been through all the old patterns I can dig up and nothing will fit. But your dress will be perfect — and I can start right now!
