Yellow Doll Heart Dress

January 12, 2016 8 comments

I love crocheting little doll dresses. They work up so quickly and only require a small amount of yarn to complete. I used my doll heart dress and added a flare skirt for a different look to the final crocheted dress project.

Here is a closeup of the crocheted heart that adorns this little doll dress. Scroll down below to find the free crochet pattern details for the yellow baby doll dress.

Heart 12 Inch Doll Dress

August 15, 2014 2 comments

Here is my I Heart Doll Dress crocheted to fit a 12 inch soft-body baby doll.

This little dress was crocheted using my baby doll bunting pattern and just making changes to convert the pattern into a dress. I also used the reverse single crochet stitch for the trim on the neck, sleeves, and hem. If you are not familiar with the reverse single crochet stitch, it is also known as the crab stitch and makes a nice finished trim on a crocheted item.

The final touch on the baby doll dress is a little heart I crocheted. I just love how it added that extra special look to the doll dress. I hope you enjoy my free crochet doll dress pattern and please let me know if you have any questions as you work the pattern below.

14 Inch Baby Doll Dress

This baby doll dress was crocheted to fit the cloth body dolls that are about 14 inches long and have the wider bodies. The doll has a 11 to 11-1/2 inch chest. I crocheted using Caron Lt Peach Country yarn for the baby doll dress and hat. Both items used less than 3 ounces of yarn to complete.

Doll’s head is 10-3/4 inches around. The hat I crocheted is about 11 inches around and 4-1/4 inches long.

Shoulder straps measure 3-1/3 inches long, dress from shoulder to hem is 7-1/2 inches long and 12 inches around chest with back closed with Velcro closure.

Thrift Store Dolls Refurbished

August 1, 2011 3 comments

My latest recycled crafting project involves these two baby dolls. I got these dolls at my local thrift store. Both dolls just needed a little cleaning and a new outfit. I crocheted both dolls a new dress and hat. Buying these used dolls was very reasonable. One was only 99 cents and the other $1.99 but with new outfits, they have a new life and look great. They both will be going to my local woman’s shelter for some little girls to find joy with a new baby doll.

Here is a closeup of the hat. I worked one round in white yarn and then did white trim by working a slip stitch in the final round. You can click on any of the photos to supersize them.

I used Hooksandknives.blogspot.com doll dress and hat pattern for both outfits. I crocheted using a H (5 mm) hook with worst weight 4 ply yarn. My dolls are 12 inches tall and I did a little modification on the neckline and straps as outlined below. Unfortunately the blog that was hosting the original doll dress and hat patterns is no longer in existence as of 2015. But I was able to find the pattern details and added them to the post below.
