March Teddy Bear

Posted on March 26, 2026

For the month of March, our Bears for Kids group are crocheting and knitting bears with a green theme to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Here is my March bear sporting a green sparkly ribbon.

March Crocheted Teddy Bear

This bear is crocheted in the round with only a seam along the top of the shoulders and head. The free crochet pattern is here at my blog. Here is the pattern link to In The Round Teddy Bear.

I also did the eyes alittle different on this bear. I used some thin lightweight yarn and a small steel crochet hook to make the eyes. I crocheted the eyes separate from the head by chaining 2 and joining to make a ball. Then I slip stitched a few times into the ball to make each eyeball. Leave long tails to tie and secure on the inside of head. This way, you can move the eyeball around to get the right placement before tying it off on the inside of the head. I do this before stuffing and before closing the top of the head.

If you enjoy crocheting and knitting bears, you might check out our Ravelry group. As stated on the group page, “we are a friendly community of knitters and crocheters who make bears for children in need. We share ideas, ask questions, comment, and cheer on one another through this shared mission. All are welcome”.
