Recycled Trellis Tote Bag
Crochet this recycled trellis tote bag which has been shared from a reader friend of mine Diane. Diane has shared other patterns at my blog and here is her latest recycled creation using plarn. She has added some flowers to finish off her tote bag and asked me to share the free pattern below.

Free Trellis Tote Bag Pattern
Materials needed:
One ball of Plarn (approx. 25-30 bags)
Hook: N (9 mm) metal crochet hook
Description: Tote bag/handbag
Bag measures: 11 inches wide by 12 inches long
Direction:
Ch 24 somewhat loosely
Rnd 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end, 2 hdc in each end ch (48 hdc). DO NOT JOIN UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO.
Rnds 2 – 5: Hdc in each Hdc.
Rnd 6: Hdc in 1st st, *ch 1, sk 1 st, hdc in next st. Continue from * around to end.
Rnd 7: Hdc in each st and ch sp around to end.
Rnds 8 – 17: Repeat rnds 6 and 7, ending with rnd 7 (or to desired length, but always end with rnd 7). Mark off center 10 sts for handles.
Rnd 18: Hdc in each st to mark, *ch 10 somewhat tightly, sk next 10 sts, hdc around to next mark, repeat from * to end/side.
Rnd 19: *Sc in each st to handle, 12 sc around ch 10, continue around to end.
Rnd 20: Sc in each st to last 2 sts, sl st in last 2 sts. FO and weave in ends. Decorate as wanted.
Flowers (pattern from Cindy at MyRecycledBags.com):
Small: ch 4, sl st to form ring, *ch 4 or 5, sc in ring, repeat from * 5 to 8 times for desired amount of petals.
Large: ch 4, sl st to form ring, *ch 8, sc in ring, repeat from * 5 to 6 times for desired amount of petals.
Leave ends long for attaching to bag.
Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Hdc – half double crochet
Rnd – round
Sc – single crochet
Sk – skip
Sl st – slip stitch
Sp – space
St(s) – stitch(s)
