Patriotic Weekend
As we honor those who gave all, I created this post to showcase some patriotic craft ideas. First let us never forgot our Veterans this Memorial Day weekend. Remember and honor them not just this weekend but every day.
I wanted to share some of my patriotic projects that I have created over the years. Maybe you are looking for something in red, white and blue to make this weekend. Here are a few ideas to spur you on.
Here is a simple but easy crocheted flag dishcloth or washcloth project. It also makes a cool hotpad for any table or outdoor BBQ. The free crochet pattern is found here.
How about a patriotic crocheted wheelchair tote. I have the free pattern here. I have made many of these handy wheelchair tote bags for Veterans hospitals and nursing homes. Everyone really loves receiving these for gifts.
Maybe you’d like to help with the Warmth for Warriors Christmas stocking drive. These cute little 6 inch stockings are fast and easy to crochet. You can learn more about this wonderful charity drive by clicking on the link above. More information and free pattern details on these mini cuffed stockings is found here.
I would be amiss if I didn’t include a few recycled bag projects. First here is a red, white and blue recycled plastic tote. I call this pattern the All American Plarn Bag.
Here is one more wheelchair or walker tote bag project. This one is crocheted using recycled plastic bags with red, white and blue stripes. Here is the puff stitch wheelchair pattern for this project.
Well that’s all for this patriotic roundup in honor of Memorial Day weekend. I hope I have inspired you with one of my crafting projects.
