Here are some new cotton dishcloths I recently crocheted. I wanted to try a new stitch and crocheted these dishcloths using the linen stitch. The linen stitch creates a nice thick woven-look cloth.
The easy peasy crochet pattern for my linen dishcloths were crocheted using these linen stitch details.
What you need to crochet your linen stitch dishcloth:
Crochet hook: H (5 mm)
2 ounces of cotton yarn in main color and small amount of white cotton yarn

If you read my last post, you know that I have been busy crocheting Mother Bears for the organization that sends teddy bears to children in foreign countries. I crocheted a Mother Bear hoodie on one teddy bear and then crocheted this girl bear with a skirt and bloomers.
This bear and her clothing were crocheted using medium weight acrylic yarn. The basic bear was crocheted using the seamless crochet bear pattern found at the Mother Bear Project site. My pattern details are a guideline for adding the skirt and bloomers but make sure you check your fit on your bear as you crochet.
I crocheted the skirt with a G (4 mm) crochet hook. Attach at back of waist on bear and follow pattern directions below. I crocheted the skirt working from the waist down and crocheted with the bear upside down as I added the skirt.

Attach yarn and single crochet (Sc) in each stitch around at waistline.
Here is a quick and easy little way to add trim to some kid’s or adult gloves. I used fun fur that I got at the dollar store to trim these simple gloves.
Here are a few photos showing the single crocheting around the edge of the gloves. Click on any of the photos to enlarge the images. This project requires one smaller crochet hook such as an E USA hook and one G crochet hook. You crochet one row of single crochet stitches around the top edge of each glove.
Insert small crochet hook (E hook) into the top edge of glove as shown. Pull up yarn through the hole you make with the smaller hook and then using G crochet hook finish the single crochet (SC) stitch.
I leave the G hook in the prior stitch to hold it in place until I am ready to finish the next single crochet stitch. Just continue around
I am crocheting teddy bears for the Mother Bear Project and have some extra clothing ideas to share. I sent for the crocheted seamless bear pattern and found the pattern very easy to follow with lots of opportunities to make variations on the bear’s clothing. After seeing another crafter make an adorable hoodie, I knew I just had to make a bear with a hoodie too. If you knit there are instructions for the Bears in the Hood found here but I only crochet so I had to improvise and create a hoodie for my bear.
So after a little trial and error here are the pattern details for a crocheted Mother Bear hoodie.
Here is my latest recycled plastic tote bag. It was inspired by the Seattle Seahawks and I used their team colors when I crocheted the tote. I used what I loving call boring white plastic bags in this crocheted tote bag. White plastic bags are very plentiful but need something to spice them up so blue and apple green acrylic yarn in Seattle Seahawks colors were added for stripes and trim.
I crocheted the tote bag using my flat bottom tote bag pattern. The crochet pattern is free and you just need to alternate some crocheted stripes using your favorite team colors as shown. Adding colorful yarns is a great way to pretty-up those boring white plastic bags and you end up with a cool-looking recycled tote bag.

I love crocheting little doll dresses. They work up so quickly and only require a small amount of yarn to complete. I used my doll heart dress and added a flare skirt for a different look to the final crocheted dress project.

This is a basic granny stitch dishcloth but with a twist on the beginning round. I crocheted additional stitches to create a wider center to give the dishcloth a flower petal look. Plus it is a great pattern for using scraps of cotton yarn to crochet a cute-looking dishcloth.
